I want to thank the hundreds of volunteers and thousands of supporters nationwide who contributed to our campaign. While we didn't overcome the tough challenges in the 50th District we did make a huge difference locally and nationally. Thanks to our energy and determination we led the charge that culminated in the November 7, 2006 election of Democratic majorities in the House and Senate. We are working to increase that majority so we truly lead our nation in a new direction.

I am now focused on extending the energized base of support that we built for Democrats in San Diego and supporting our local candidates. As the second largest Democratic County in the state of California, we have enormous potential that we are poised to unleash in the 2008 election.
